WELCOME TO the cleverest house of Hogwarts. The founder, Rowena Revenclaw, was a beautiful and highly' intelligent witch who valued learning and wisdom above all else. Only students with the brightest minds and sharpest wits are sorted into Revenclaw.

Revenclaws have pioneering minds and are also brilliant at problem solving, which is a good thing as they have no solve a riddle posed by an enchanted eagle door knocker every time they want to enter their common room! Their vision and insight allow them to soar to heights of intellect unmatched by the other Hogwarts houses.

Not surprisingly this house has produced many notable geniuses and inventors whose innovations have changed the lives of witches and wizards the world over. Where would the wizards of today be without Ignatia Wildsmith's invention, Floo powder? Mr. Garrick Olliviander, the most skilled wandmaker in the world, also hails from Revenclaw house.

Revenclaws strive to keep an open mind and are not afraid to forge their own path. This is sometimes to their detriment, as it can come accross as eccentricity. People may have laughed at Luna Lovegood for wearing a Butterbeer-cork necklace and entertaining the fact that the Blibbering Humdinger might exist, but it was her open mind and insight that convinced her that Horry Potter was telling the truth about Lord Voldemort's return, when many in the wizarding world were doubtful. Where some see eccentricity, in Revenclaw true genius lies.

♦MAKING REVENCLAWS PROUD♦
Gifted Seer Professor Sybill Trelawney, great-great-granddaughter of the celebrated Seer Cassandra Trelawney, is the embodiment of the eccentric Revenclaw. Yet it is she who made two of the most significant predictions of the modern wizarding world.

Her first prophecy set the wheels in motion for the two decade-long downfall of Lord Voldemort.

'The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches ... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies ... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not ... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives ... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies ...'

♦HOUSE FOUNDER ROWENA RAVENCLAW♦
Rowena Revenclaw hailed from the glen and was a firm friend of fellow Hogwarts founder Helga Hufflepuff. She was considered the most brilliant witch of her time. She valued intelligence above all other qualities, and selected only the cleverest students for her house. Her aphorism, 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure', is inscribed upon her diadem, and remains the guiding principle of the house she founded.

A white marble statue of Rowena Revenclaw watches over students in the Revenclaw common room. She has a quizzical half smile on her face, beautiful but intimidating. According to legend, she died of a broken heart.

♦HOUSE RELIC♦
Rowena Revenclaw's diadem is a delicate circlet enchanted with magical properties that enhances the wisdom of its wearer.

Rowena Revenclaw's daughter Helena stole the diadem out of jealousy of her mother's cleverness. It was found by Lord Voldemort who made it into a Horcrux and kept it hidden for many years at Hogwarts.

♦HOUSE LIVERY♦
The Revenclaw heraldic beast is a proud eagle, and the house colours are bronze and blue. The eagle, like a true Revenclaw, soars to heights others cannot reach.

Name: The Grey Lady
Appearance: A beautiful woman with waist-length hair who wears a floor-length cloak
Method of death: She was stabbed in a fit of rage by her spurned lover.
